Just wanted to direct your attention to one of my favorite NBA related articles. Each year NBA.com conducts a survey of NBA general managers. The 57 questions range from who will win the MVP to which coach best motivates his players.
The Grizzlies mentions were few and far between. Several Memphis players found themselves in the “others receiving votes” portion of various categories. However, two categories featured a Grizzly in the top three.
Tony Allen was voted as the NBA’s best perimeter defender, beating out Kobe Bryant who won the category in last year’s survey. He also tied for third in the toughest player category.
I’m not sure when the survey was conducted so it is hard to say whether the Zach Randolph injury impacted both his personal results and the team results. Judging by the voting I would guess that it was conducted post-injury but I can’t be sure.
The full results can be found here.
