I have a secret… actually two. The first one is I’m not good at sharing, especially when it comes to food. I’m not New Hunan. There is no “try sample” in my vocabulary. Don’t get me wrong, I love eating out at restaurants with family & friends (just as long as they stay away from my plate). So that leads me to secret number two. I fell in love with a food truck. It was an unlikely romance but alas, it is true. As much as it pains me to do so, I feel that it’s my duty to tell you about the amazingness of Stick Em.
Stick Em completely changed my perception on food trucks. Before I got my hands on their mouthwatering menu I thought food truck food was equivalent to fast food, good but not great. That couldn’t be any farther from the truth. I would put Stick Em up against any restaurant with a full sized kitchen and guarantee you that this food truck could go “stick to stick” with the best of them.
So you might be wondering what these people did to get me singing their praises. For starters, they make the best grilled veggies in the city. They fill up your plate with two full cups of the most delicious broccoli, carrots, Brussel sprouts and peppers I’ve ever tasted. I mean seriously, I wish I could tie them down & make them tell me the secret to grilling vegetables that have a slight aroma of charcoal and tons of flavor. They were seared to perfection, crisp and firm all the way through. Though the veggies are to die for, the real star of the show comes to you in the form of chicken, steak or shrimp so tender and masterfully cooked it practically falls off the stick they serve it on. You choose one meat or a combo of two with the grilled veggies or fries, all for under $10. Nothing about this meal was mediocre. Every single bite was better than the one before and I actually paced myself while eating because I didn’t want it to end.
So the question is would I recommend Stick Em to a friend? No. I would not.
I would not recommend it, I would demand it. Find that food truck now and thank me later
Stick Em’ does not have a website but they do post on Facebook pretty often. Follow their page to find out what street they hanging out on for the day!
